And the winner is...

the OWOH give away is over and I have met so many nice people! Thank you all for your sweet, funny, inspiring and most of all MANY comments!

I would love to give you all a window star, but then I would never stop folding and the shipping would wreck me, too ;-) So I used random.org to determine a winner! The winning number was 27, and the 27th comment was written by...

**Drum rolls, please!**

Grace!

Congratulations, I have already sent you an e-mail asking for the color you want the star to be. I will post a picture of the finished star once its done right here on my blog.

I decided to give away one set of my "Knights and Princesses" ACEOs and one set of my felt ACEOs to people who commented that they like them.

So to all of you that didn't win - if you go to my etsy store and buy something, mention that you participated in my OWOH giveaway and you get a small star for free. I will hold another giveaway once I reach 100 fans on my facebook fanpage - so go over there and become a fan! *pkes sidebar*

Thursday 4 February 2010

Hello there,
Man, what a busy week...
My son is currently at home from kindergarden and he has a lot of energy, I can tell you! Needless to say that time to create things for my etsy store is in short supply :-)
Anyway, if you're following this blog (or come here once in a while), you know that I'm on this super sweet unofficial etsy tem and to say thank you to the girls (and one guy) I offered to feature them. Its been a while since the last feature, though :-( Also, I promised you some new graphics for this blog - how do you like the new look?

Featured Artisan today:
keikeaux

Jennifer lives in Orange County, California. She has a fondness for dark chocolate, clothes sans patterns and pretty beads! She joined Etsy in September 2008 and began selling in March 2009.
Where do you sell your creations?

Why do you sell on etsy?

I love the concept of buying and selling handmade items in a collective venue such as Etsy. There is something inherently special about giving and receiving something that was handcrafted with care.

I have a Bachelors degree, and am currently seeking a creative job. In the meantime, my abundance of free time is spent designing and creating imaginative jewelry. It would be wonderful to do this full time. However, my Etsy shops provide just enough for coffee right now.

What is it you're making and how did you get into it?

I design and create jewelry with semiprecious gemstones and high quality glass. I like classic designs with a twist – maybe it’s a different texture or asymmetry in the pattern. I’ve been making jewelry for about three years. Once I found a local bead shop, I was hooked. Completing a necklace that began with a single unique bead is very rewarding.

Any tips for other artisans/crafters?

Decide on a craft that you truly enjoy. Make sure that it is something you won’t quickly tire of. I have many containers of beads and finished pieces. Yet I still have a desire to create more. Invest in quality materials too. It will show through in your work.

Do you want to offer a promo code/give away something to the blog readers?

I am giving away one pair of earrings FREE to a lucky reader of Vee’s blog. Here’s how to enter:
Heart my shop, “Keikeaux”, on Etsy, and send me a convo that mentions my feature on Vee’s blog and your favorite item in my shop. I will randomly select a winner from the entries received. Please enter by February 18, 2010.

Now go have fun browsing her store - I know I did!
